Brothers in arms

It is not official but it looks like outfielder Justin Upton to the Atlanta Braves and reunites the brothers Upton! This is good story only several levels, one it’s a big trade because Justin Upton is 25 years of age and hasn’t even scratch the surface on his abilities. Here are the principals in the deal.

Diamondbacks will receive – 3B Martin Prado, P Randall Delgado, and prospects SS Nick Ahmed, 1B Brandon Drury, and pitching prospect Zeke Spruill.

Braves will receive – 3B Chris Johnson and OF Justin Upton.

These are numbers that are down numbers for Justin Upton. He has put up 30 home runs for a couple of seasons (31 to be exact).

The second layer to this deal is having both B.J. Upton and Justin Upton together. Both will push each other and be able to help one another when times of struggle, plus having B.J., Justin, and Jason Heyward in the same outfield makes for a young team that should be together for a while and compete with the Nationals.

How cool to be the Upton’s when are in you’re 25 and 28 and playing together. You are young enough to do some pretty spectacular things and also see each other hit your zenith in your career.

I guess the downside to this deal, is there another big strikeout guy added to lineup filled with those types of hitters.

The other thing this deal the everyday lineup has the oldest player in that lineup is 32 (Dan Uggla).

Free-agent outfielder B.J. Upton  agreed to a five-year deal worth $75.25 million with the Atlanta Braves earlier in the offseason and now to seeBIA - BJ Upton his new team continue to reinforce their team and also to do that with his little brother.

Upton, 28, hit .246 with 28 homers, 78 RBIs and 31 stolen bases for Tampa Bay last season.
